Shipley Road, Tynemouth
We we’re delighted to help our clients in Tynemouth with the full Mountfair experience, making the most of the space available.
No Space? No Problem!
When constrained by space, and restrained by planning permission, the skills of an architect and the finer details of a build are all the more important in creating a space the client will love. This project is a great example of what is possible when dealing with a tight site.
Our clients were desperate for more space and a layout that would suit family living, but the existing property made that more of a challenge that you might think. Being on the end of the terrace means the house and yard are not square, following the angle of the side lane. The challenge of achieving planning permission threw yet more complications at the project and after several iterations, the design was finalised.
At Mountfair Homes we don’t shy away from a challenge. Building unique homes for us, makes it all the more exciting. Planning the build route carefully with the clients still occupying the property was key, and making sure the whole team were on the same page and working together was important on an awkward inaccessible site.
Our clients were fantastic throughout this build and we were able to assist them and guide them when needed in terms of design as well as build. Features like the exposed brickwork chimney stack, pocket doors into the utility room, the lighting layout, and built-in furniture throughout and the tall apex bedroom window mean there’s something to see wherever you look.
The Mountfair Homes team delivered a full package on this project, completing all aspects of the build right through to decoration, flooring, porcelain paving, log burning stove, and even installing the client’s pictures, clothes dryers and bathroom fittings.
